Pakistan: People, Culture and Places
Amongst 195 countries of the world there is a country located in the Asian continent, more specifically in the South-Asian region. Loaded and carrying its rich history within it and making more, it is the sixth most populous country of the world. Many warriors and rulers have stepped on it and ruled this land with great pride. Moreover, its fertile land proved to be a grazing land for them, providing them with food and water to survive and allowing them to leave their mark in the form of buildings and great monuments. Whether it was Shah Jahan who ruled the Mughal Empire, Ashoka, Alexander the Great or Muhammad bin Qasim leading his army and settling on the land. Time passed, increasing the amount of secrets and stories left with the land. Centuries passed and then came the Britishers who colonized this land and ruled the land for almost a century. After a while the people living on the land finally received the guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and many more and were successful in achieving freedom in 1947 from the cruel rule of Britishers by running an Independence movement.
This big piece of land was then divided into two major halves and a new chapter in the book of this land’s history was opened. This land became a land of the freed. A land which was freed in the name of Islam and became the land of the first country of a kind. Its flag was decided to be of white and green color, representing majority and minority both at the same time. Where its residents would be allowed to live, breathe and spend their lives as they would want to, without being penalized or stopped by anyone. Yes, you guessed it right, its official name is the Islamic Republic of Pakistan but it is commonly called Pakistan.
Pakistan is a country different from all the others. Covering an area of 881,913 km^2, it is rated as the world’s 36th largest country. With India on its eastern side, China to the far north-east, Afghanistan to the west, Iran to the southwest and the Arabian Sea in the south, Pakistan is the 26th largest country of the world in terms of purchasing power and 45th largest in terms of GDP. Not just this, it is noted among the emerging and growth-leading economies of the World. Having a strong sports industry in Sialkot which provides the world with different sports goods, including footballs for the World Championships, Pakistan developed itself as a semi-industrialized country as well as an agricultural country. Pakistan is an important country in political and geographical perspective. It has five provinces with more than four regional languages spoken within its territory, Urdu being the national language. It has a major culture but has embedded different sub-cultures in it and all the sub cultures of the provinces are very unique and amazing on their own.
Pakistan is a beautiful country, home to a lot of people. It is a regional power, yet it is a country with unmatched scenic beauty and places, that are as breath-taking as the sceneries in any other country, that don’t just attract its own residents but also attract foreigners towards themselves to such an extent that they come and visit Pakistan every year in huge numbers to enjoy the views by being there. Not just this, but the different tourist attractions Pakistan has in different states were built in different times and have their own history. Mohenjo Daro and Harappa surely make it to the oldest and most fascinating sites of all the world. The culture of Pakistan is a unique feature in the country’s identity. It has five provinces and each of these provinces has its own different and attractive culture. Truck art in Pakistan is a very unique feature. Although Shalwar Kamees is the national dress of Pakistan but the people all five provinces have a different way of wearing them. The culture of Pakistan is filled with vibrant and attractive colors attracting anyone who sees it. All the provinces have their own melodious songs. The fashion industry of Pakistan is also one of the leading industries of the world and has been holding its position successfully, competing with anyone who enters the competition.
The fashion industry is a home to a lot of successful fashion designers whose work has not just been appreciated, but also has been used in other industries. The famous designers include Hassan Shehrayar Yasin, Yousaf Bashir Qureshi and more. The art of combining contemporary style with modern styles is something that leaves people wondering about the magic our designers play. Furthermore, the food in Pakistan is also different and taster then anywhere in the world. Dishes like Gulab Jamun, Chicken Biryani, Karahi cooked in oil and served with roti aur naan are absolutely loved by its people as well as outsiders. Even though Pakistan is labeled to be a terrorist country, the residents of this country are fully aware of the amazing culture and lives that they live here and enjoy with their families. Pakistan is an amazing country with amazing realities present in it and leaving tourists awe struck. There might be a lot of countries present in the world but it surely is difficult to find an amazing country like Pakistan anywhere.
